Pehel Swasthya- Driving healthcare accessibility to all
Pehel Foundation – the CSR arm of PNB Housing Finance – has implemented several healthcare programmes under its Pehel Swasthya initiative to ensure equitable access to quality medical care and holistic well-being for all. By focusing on preventive healthcare, maternal and child health, medical support, awareness programs, and government infrastructural enhancements, the Company strives to bridge gaps in the medical ecosystem to foster healthier communities. The programmes prioritize specialized support for the elderly and specially-abled individuals, ensuring dignity and accessibility for them.
PNB Housing Finance is a trusted brand in the housing financing sector with close to four decades of specialised experience in enabling home ownership dreams for millions of Indians. The Company offers a range of home loans and related financial products, such as housing loans for individuals to purchase, construct, repair, and upgrade houses as well as loans for commercial spaces, loans against property, and loans for the purchase of residential plots.
The initiatives have, by far, benefited nearly 5 lac construction workers, migrant communities, people living in the border areas or affected due to border conflicts, residents living in hilly terrains, and other people from the underserved sections of the society, etc.
Services rendered under the Pehel Swasthya initiative:
- Advanced Life Support ambulances to Indian Army – 7 ALS ambulances deployed in the Northern Command region, improving emergency response for people living in the region
- Wheelchairs in old age homes – 300 wheelchairs distributed, helping ~3,500 individuals across 75 old-age homes
- Blood Collection and Transport Vehicle Support – Safe blood access benefited 12,000 individuals, including emergency and chronic patients
- Dialysis and USG machines support to government hospitals – Facilitated care for ~30 patients daily in government hospitals
- Cochlear Implant surgery & smart vision glasses support – 10 cochlear implants and 90 smart vision glasses restored essential functions for beneficiaries
- Infra upgradation and medical equipment support – Two government hospitals improved healthcare access for 250 individuals
- Mobile Medical Unit support at construction sites for labourers – 12 units provided free healthcare to construction workers across 12 cities
- Support for Families – Eight new units provided accommodations for 60 families of pediatric cancer patients in Delhi annually
Pehel Swasthya’s multi-faceted approach makes it one of the more comprehensive healthcare CSR projects, addressing both immediate medical needs and long-term healthcare infrastructure improvements.
